• Jim Lauderdale returns to the UK for second time in 1998 Jim Lauderdale, one of Nashville's most successful songwriters and a
  great live performer, follows his brief April visit with a short tour this June in support of his critically acclaimed new album "Whisper" on BNA.

• The Notting Hillbillies featuring Mark Knopfler will play a series of shows at Birmingham and London's Ronnie Scott's Club.

• 34th Charles Wells Cambridge Folk Festival A full line-up has now been announced for the 34th year of "the premier event of its kind in the UK, if not Europe". The festival's prestigious reputation for quality music in intimate surroundings means tickets are set to sell out in advance.

• Shawn Colvin UK single release Columbia Records releases Sunny Came Home on May 18, 1998.

• The Mavericks And The Havana Horns Announce New UK tour in September After a tremendously successful UK tour last month, and favorable album sales and high UK chart positioning for their single, the Mavericks return for the second time to the UK this year, this time filling larger venues such as the prestigious London Royal Albert Hall.
