Sawdust pie
Cornbread Chili Stuffing

1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
2 cups chopped onions
4 cups chopped celery
2 small cans chopped green chili peppers
1 teaspoon ground marjoram
2 teaspoons ground sage

5 cups crumbled corn bread
1 cup cubed dry white bread
1 tablespoon salt, or to taste
2 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper
1 teaspoon ground thyme
4 large eggs, well beaten
1½ to 2 cups chicken or turkey broth

- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Combine first 5 ingredients in a large bowl.
- Mix well, but DO NOT BEAT!
- Turn into pie shell.
- Bake for 30 minutes DO NOT OVERBAKE!
- Serve warm or at room temperature, garnish with whipped cream.
