RISING COUNTRY MUSIC GROUP JONATHAN SINGLETON & THE GROVE FILM FIRST-EVER MUSIC VIDEO SERIES DURING CMA MUSIC FESTIVAL
Group Calls On Fans To Co-Direct And Join "The Grove"
NASHVILLE, TENN - (June 5, 2009) - Triple threat guitarist/singer/songwriter Jonathan Singleton and his band The Grove will film a series of music videos during CMA Music Festival next week. For the first time in the 38 year history of the country's premiere country music festival, the band is inviting fans to co-direct videos for early fan favorite tracks including "Look Who's Back in Love" and "Livin' in Paradise" from their upcoming debut album (Universal Records South).
The video series will be overseen by CMT Video Director of the Year nominee Peter Zavadil and co-directed by 20 lucky fans, who will be chosen randomly on site and given cameras and free reign to capture each song. The shoot is scheduled for Sat., June 13 at 4pm CT at downtown event space One Eleven (111 Broadway), and fans interested in taking part as either a director or an extra should sign up via email to iamthegrove@gmail.com. After the shoot, fans will be treated to an intimate set by the band.
"One of the things I respect most about country music is the close relationship that artists have with their fans, and CMA Music Fest is the best example of that," says Singleton. "This just seemed like a cool way to include everybody and really get the fans involved in the music from the very beginning."
Fans will also have the opportunity to officially join "The Grove" on site at Music Fest and online through the band's web site (www.jonathansingletonandthegrove.com). Once signed up, members will receive free music, ticket pre-sales, meet and greet priority and more.
"The name 'The Grove' really comes from the name of the trailer park in West Tennessee that me and the guys in the band lived in when we first started playing music together," explains Singleton. "We all come from very musically diverse places, and we're learning that our fans' taste is just as diverse, so we decided to let them join in and officially be part of 'The Grove.' It's almost like a fan club where all kinds of music from country and blues to rock and bluegrass are celebrated."
Singleton will also be part of an intimate Musicians On Call writer's round on Fri., June 12 at Nashville's Hard Rock Cafe, which will be broadcasted live on XM Radio at 11pm CT. The following day fans can catch the full band show on CMA's Chevy stage at 2:45pm.
