Garth Brooks goes live on the big screen 

Fans nationwide will have the opportunity to see Garth Brooks [ tickets ] perform live Nov. 14 as the country star's final gig of a nine-show run in Kansas City, MO, is piped into more than 300 movie theaters. 

"It's things like this that make me praise technology," Brooks said in a statement, adding that concert promoter AEG and theater network National CineMedia have allowed him "to go on a virtual tour without leaving home. How does it get any better than that?"

The movie-theater concerts will be priced at $10 and there is a 10-ticket limit per person. Tickets go on sale Friday (10/19) at Brooks' website and the Fathom Events website, which will list theater locations and additional information in the coming days. Those who miss out on the Nov. 14 live simulcast can catch an encore presentation at theaters the following night.

Brooks originally scheduled one show at Kansas City's new 18,500-seat Sprint Center, but it sold out so fast that eight more were added to accommodate the demand. Nearly 160,000 tickets were sold in just under two hours, tying Brooks' own record for selling the most tickets in any city in North America, according to a press release.

The concert series, which kicks off Nov. 5, will also feature the singer's wife, Trisha Yearwood [ tickets ].

Brooks, who retired from touring in 2001 to spend more time with his children, has also agreed to play the Nov. 16 Oklahoma Centennial Spectacular. His itinerary is listed below.

The performer is supporting his new three-disc set, "The Ultimate Hits," which is scheduled to arrive in stores Nov. 6. The collection includes three new songs, one bonus track and a DVD with 34 music videos. The album's lead single, "More Than A Memory," debuted at the top of Billboard's Country Singles chart last month.

Brooks is the fastest-selling solo artist in music history, moving more than 100 million albums in 10 years, according to his website. His last studio album, 2001's "Scarecrow," marked his seventh No. 1 debut on The Billboard 200.
