ACM Christmas PartyStory by Glenda S. Paradee
Photos by Vince Gutierrez The Academy of Country Music Christmas Party was held December 17, 1998 at The Castaways in Burbank, California. The event was sold out. They had a wonderful array of country stars who entertained: Shannon Brown (Arista Nashville), Danni Leigh (Decca Records), Mark Wills (Mercury Records) and, if that weren't enough, they had a very special guest artist, Ty Herndon (from Epic Records)! At the event, the Academy presented the checks to the charities benefiting from the Bill Boyd Celebrity Golf Classic, this past year held on October 12, 1998 at De Bell Golf Course in Burbank, CA. The charities who received checks were the T.J. Martell Foundation, Neil Bogart Memorial Laboratory, Shriner's Children's Hospital, National Music Foundation and Bill Boyd Memorial Fund, Inc. Also this year everyone in attendance celebrated the birthday of the Academy of Country Music's Executive Director, Fran Boyd. Lots of great food, entertainment and a fun time was had by all. |
